This position is an on-call, variable schedule. The staff pharmacist has the responsibility to integrate the provision of pharmaceutical care with other elements of the patient care process, to provide a collaborative, cooperative effort with other members of the health care team, to assure optimal drug therapy outcomes and to improve the patient’s quality of life. Performs all duties in a manner, which promotes a team concept and reflects the philosophy of the hospital. Minimum qualifications: graduation from an accredited college of pharmacy. Current registration and license in the Alaska State Board of Pharmacy. One year previous hospital pharmacist experience. Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program. Salary range depends on experience.

This position provides safe and effective drug therapy that cures or arrests disease, eliminates symptoms, or prevents disease through identifying, resolving, and preventing drug related problems.
This position requires a B.S. in Pharmacy; a minimum one year related work experience; a working knowledge of all aspects of pharmaceutical care; the ability to prepare a patient work-up and retrieve relevant patient and lab data; excellent pharmacokinetic skills; the ability to operate a computer; excellent communication skills; extensive knowledge of drug therapy, monitoring, dosing, and disease treatment; the ability to supervise others; the ability to attend to detail; a working knowledge of Federal and State pharmacy laws; the ability to review and assess medical literature; excellent interpersonal skills; and strong organizational skills.
Licensure requirements for this position include a Washington State Board
of Pharmacists license, a Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
